We pretty much jumped over this holiday and went from Halloween to Christmas, even putting up decorations a week before Thanksgiving. I was also fully prepared to order pizza and ignore it completely, but in the end we decided to create our own small celebration. It was certainly more simple than anything we’ve experienced in the past - we didn’t even cook a turkey!
A Fancy Weekend
We recently had the opportunity to get all dressed up for a family wedding shower! Apparently the theme of the day was PURPLE!
We were a bit unsure how the day would go, since we were driving over an hour away, and the shower started only two hours before E's usual bedtime. So we decided flexibility was the name of the game. We brought PJs with us in case he wanted to sleep. If we needed to leave early, we would.
Summer Parties
Recently we were invited to Nicole and Stephen's for a party and celebration. Both sets of parents were in town as well as a lot of family friends that I've known since I was a little kid. It was a great opportunity to catch up with everyone and talk weddings, and new houses, and other various life events (like Kelly's new baby who made an appearance at only 2 weeks old!).
