Catching Up: Celebrating the Parents

Life got busy as it does, and one of the things that disappeared around here was blog updates. There was also a period where I debated if I wanted to continue it, but I’ve decided that the benefits of tracking memories makes it worth it. You will see some changes - making things a bit more generic, for example, to keep some privacy while still documenting life.

So what did we miss in the last 6 months or so?

Let’s start with Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and both Tom and my birthdays. April through June is pretty much non stop cake for us, but it was nice for the kids to see us taking some time to celebrate ourselves. There were presents and cards and coffee runs. We went out for food, we ordered in food. We even smashed a pinata for one of the celebrations. And for almost 2 weeks Tom got extra hugs at bedtime from F because she kept saying “Oh! Big hug cuz it’s dad day!” and we just went with it.

My parents were here for my birthday (and E’s too I guess haha) and we were in and out of the house playing and chasing the kids around. At one point my mom followed F inside and found her climbed up on the table finishing the rest of my birthday cake that we had left out. To be fair it was a great cake, and we had almost eaten it all, but it was definitely my favorite memory from the weekend.
