Normally if given a chance, I feel like E would spend all of his time at daycare. He loves it so much there, and there are always people to play with, new toys, and lots of space to run around and explore outside.
But I think he may have a new love - Vermont.
I get it. I grew up there, I have some of my best memories there. It's a pretty cool place. It's also loaded with family. For some reason the fall seems to be our time to travel up north and visit everyone, which is what we've been trying to do. It's also a good time since the further I get in this pregnancy, the more squirrely the doctors are getting about me being away from home.
So we took a long weekend recently, and escaped the city for open air, mountains, trees, and cows. All things that E loves. I swear this kid spent all day outside. From the moment he woke up until bed time, he was running and exploring and constantly moving. He even ate outside. I've never seen him more tired. I think his legs even got sore, because by the end of the trip he was asking more people to pick him up and carry him to the places he wanted to go. (On a related note, you'd think this would make him sleep in the car for the ride back... but no).
I don't want to be the one to tell him that winter wasn't a one time thing, and that his beloved outside is going to get cold and angry again soon. We did buy him winter gear this year, so maybe we'll attempt to play outside, but we'll see. I'm not sure how he'll feel about things like boots and gloves...
