Time to dump a bunch of pictures and maybe some memories tied to them. I wasn’t kidding when I said the fall was non stop events, to the point I forgot we even did some of these things until I saw the pictures.
We checked out a new local farm for pumpkins, hay rides, and to E’s excitement - a corn maze! We also later went to our local farm stand to do their corn maze, which is much more my speed - and F’s too. They open at 7am, so we like to go early in the morning and let the kids run through the maze for an hour until they’re tired.
We went apple picking too, but not with our usual group. Instead we joined our neighbors and some of their family and friends - one of whom ended up being a friend of Tom’s from years ago. A completely random and fun surprise. The kids played and ran around eating as much fruit as they could, and we went home with enough apples and pears to last us a while.
Of course with all those pumpkins, we eventually had to carve some. In past years we’ve gotten away with carving just one, and for some reason this year I thought two might be enough, but we obviously ended up carving 3. Two we did free hand, but E had their first taste of stenciled pumpkins. All of them came out awesome.
Then it was time to pose with our pumpkins and matching pjs!
If you don’t have young kids, you might not be aware that there was a new paw patrol movie released recently. I don’t have that privilege, so we found ourselves at the theater one rainy weekend. The kids loved the movie and did way better than they did at Elemental, so I’ll call it a success - even if I did think the movie was a knockoff of Superpets.
Daycare has been having a lot of theme days and other things that have been taking up a lot of extra time. It drives me crazy, but every once in a while something I didn’t expect excites the kids. Before Halloween, one of the theme days was dress like a mummy, and G thought it was the funniest thing as I bandaged him up.
Although most of the month was rainy and gross, there were a few good days and we tried to get outside as much as possible. This hike was a bit harder than hikes in the past, since the littlest among us refused to hold my hand this time. Instead she insisted she could do it herself, even if she did fall multiple times. Each time we’d stop and brush her off and as soon as her tears were dry, she was off and running with the big kids again.
