It’s currently after Thanksgiving and I still haven’t loaded Halloween pictures on my computer yet, which shows you how behind on everything I am. I have 7 Christmas trees up in my house, at least, so some priorities are in tact.
Like the rest of the year has been, October was super rainy. We missed out on a couple Halloween events because it was raining, which was too bad. We still managed to have fun and dress in costumes a few times, and I’m not sure the kids misses anything since we added a few new events.
Daycare had a Trunk or Treat event which was way bigger and more intense than I was expecting, but also super fun. I also realized after the fact that it was the first time I brought all 3 kids out in public somewhere by myself and I was only minorly anxious the entire time that one of them would run off into the parking lot. It did help that we were surrounded by daycare teachers and parents, though, and Tom stopped by at the end to help wrangle them into the car (and see their costumes!).
The elementary school had their Halloween parade that both Tom and I were able to go watch, and it thankfully fell on a nice sunny day.
Halloween itself was super cold, and we ended up not staying out very long. F was super cold by the end and begging to get back in the car. We went to a cul de sac near our house and managed to fill our buckets in about 30 minutes, which was nice considering the weather. We invited friends to come with us and I think everyone had fun. Despite my talk to the children at the beginning about being safe and respectful, we still had more running than I’m comfortable with, and every child (except the baby) got hurt at one point - usually as a result of running. Maybe one day they’ll learn haha
On to the next holiday!
