Look who’s a month old!
I don’t know if time has been going fast or slow since everything shut down in March, but I will say that I can’t believe the kittens are a month old already. It’s insane. And also I’m so happy that I’m not worried about them dying every minute of the day anymore.
They’re finally big enough to play and jump around and you can feel okay about picking them up now. They’re also adorable. They’re seriously the best way to spend a few minutes between meetings.
They’ve seen the vet twice now, so we have confirmation that they’re all doing as great as we thought. Mama cat is doing well too. Her c-section scar is fully healed, and she’s finally eating and has more energy again. She actually gain a pound in the last two weeks! She has been doing an amazing job keeping these little kittens fed, which I am extremely thankful for.
At this point we’re pretty sure we know the genders of the kittens. Which means we’ve officially adopted our kitten! Little Grey kitten, now known as Cookie, will be our newest addition! (E almost insisted on calling her Orange Lawnmower, ha!) We’re calling the others Oscar (the only male, previously Stripe kitty), Sesame (previously B&W White, our smallest kitty) and Weedwacker. I mean… if you know E at all, you aren’t surprised by these names.
E is super excited, and while he’s still a little nervous, he definitely loves Cookie. He does cry every time the kittens start playing - “Stop! They’re eating each other! Don’t let them eat Cookie!” We’ve tried to explain that the kittens are still learning how to play nicely, but that doesn’t make him any less upset.
G is obsessed with them all. He likes to give them all hugs, one at a time. He does the same every time he sees Abby, whereas E is much more interested in playing with her, from a distance.
I can’t wait to see what happens the next few months. One thing’s for sure, these cats have brought a lot of fun energy into our lives.

From ladybugs to kitty cats.
Mostly I’m just picking themes that seem fun based on random things she likes, and since I didn’t feel like throwing a baby doll birthday party, cats it is! So we decorated the whole house with cats with party hats and E helped me by blowing up a lot of balloons. He was home one day with me and bored, so I threw some balloons at him and told him to figure out how to blow them up! It was actually pretty cool watching him figure out what he needed to do.
Our cats didn’t love it, though. Every night you’d find them staring with wide eyes at the stuff hanging from the ceiling. Which to be fair, did look like we’d cut a head off a cat and hung it from a string…
