Slowly but surely, it's happening. We're moving in a bit more, decorating and making things feel like home. For a while now, I've had a stack of picture frames littering the office floor. Waiting to be put somewhere or hung up.
Finally I found myself with a free day, and decided to start hanging them on the wall by our stairs. Originally I had a plan to map out where everything was going to go, but I realized that was causing me to delay starting the project since I wasn't sure how to do it. In the end I just grabbed the drill and started hanging things.
Above on the left is the view from the bottom of the stairs, when I wasn't quite finished yet. Above on the right is the finished product plus a curious kitten. She totally approves.
I like the way it came out, and there's even space to grow over the years if we find the need to add some more frames here and there. The only problem now, is that most of the frames are still empty! And the ones that do have pictures, some of them are hanging sideways since that's the way the frame fit in that spot.
Bets on how long we have empty picture frames around our house? This isn't even the only spot where we have empty frames. There are at least 3 or 4 spots throughout the house I can think of where we're admiring photos of stock families instead of our own haha.
I swear I've actually ordered some pictures, but no matter how much I plan before ordering them, somehow I always end up with pictures that don't go anywhere and more empty frames.
Good thing 2017 promises to be a year that will give us a lot of fun things to photograph...
