I feel like E might be one of those people who when you tell them they can't do something, they're going to work non stop until they can.
Case in point, I just mentioned that we had his one month check up. At the check up we learned he was ity bity, and discussed a few developmental milestones that he hadn't quite hit... yet.
Since then, he's been eating like a fiend and I swear he's bigger. All of a sudden his hands look huge, his head has doubled in size, and I swear he's gained weight. It might be my imagination, but he's definitely eating more than he was before the appointment, so I think he took it as a challenge to get higher on the growth chart.
He's also started doing a few other things he couldn't do last week. He's working at learning how to fall asleep on his own, track faces, and he officially can stand up and support his own weight now. If he's in your lap and you're holding on to his hands, don't be surprised when he suddenly shoots straight up and stands up on his skinny little legs. As long as we keep him from toppling over, he can hold it for longer than I'd expect at this point.
Little buddy has been busy.
The best part, though, is while he's sleeping. We've been having this debate about what babies dream about. The consensus seems to be that babies do dream, since they spend so much time in REM sleep. But no one can really know what they dream about. Their dreams probably don't look like ours, since they don't have the language, knowledge, or experiences we do. So maybe they're just dreaming about eating or burping. But whatever it is, this week E started smiling and chirping while he's sleeping from time to time. I don't really know how to describe the chirping, it's a cross between a hiccup and a laugh, but he's always smiling when he does it. It's the cutest thing ever.
