How We Met

Although neither of us can really remember when, Tom and I do know that we met at church sometime in 2010. We both joined the Young Adult Group (YAG) at Old South Church in Boston, and somewhere between group lunches, discussions at coffee hour, and bowling parties, we became friends.

It may not have gone much further than that, but in the spring of 2011, the outgoing YAG leadership approached us and asked if we'd be interested in becoming the new co-leaders of the group. We both said yes, and that was the beginning of three years where we worked together closely to plan and run events for church members.  Increasingly we were spending more and more time together, and at some point lunches that were originally scheduled as YAG event planning sessions turned into three hour hangouts where we talked about everything from our jobs to our backgrounds, to our future goals.

Two years later, I invited him out for frozen yogurt, he invited me to a movie, and suddenly we found ourselves dating and in love.
